Beats ramp up their Studio Pro collaborations with Californian streetwear stalwarts Stüssy, uniting for a sleek beige and black colourway.
It’s easy to forget that, when Dr. Dre was at the peak of his powers, producing hits for the biggest names in hip-hop, Shawn Stüssy was just around the corner selling logoed t-shirts and surfboards from his car on Laguna Beach. Both Beats and Stüssy were born out of creative scenes in California, which are becoming more entwined by the day.
Thanks to hip-hop, we now live in a streetwear-obsessed society; the genre has far surpassed its music roots and become a whole lifestyle on its own. Accentuating this further, Beats have linked up with Stüssy to launch a pair of their new Studio Pro line, ramping up their collaboration game with a ‘90s-inspired colour scheme.
Reminiscent of urethane skateboard wheels and materials like fibreglass and resin, the headphones feature light beige and slate black hues. A sleek Stüssy sport logo features across the head top while the iconic double S branding sits inside the padded ear cups.
The new line of Beats headphones has already seen collaborations with luxury fashion brands Mowalola and Mains as well as endorsements from A$AP Rocky and LeBron James. With extended battery life, active noise cancellation and new spatial audio capabilities, skaters and streetwear fans alike can listen to their music in peace and in premium quality.
The brands are no strangers to a cross-over, having collaborated last year on a limited-edition Beats Pill+ Speaker, combining a Southern Californian aesthetic with crisp portable sound.
The Stüssy x Beats Studio Pro collaboration will be available worldwide on Friday, December 15 at select Stüssy stores, select Dover Street Market shops and on the brand’s website.
