Rihanna breaks six-year music hiatus with brand-new single “Lift Me Up”, from the upcoming Wakanda Forever movie.

Musician, actress and business owner Rihanna – not that she needs the introduction – has today broken her six-year music hiatus with brand-new single “Lift Me Up”.

Made for the soundtrack of Marvel’s fast-coming Black Panther spin-off Wakanda Forever, the song pays homage to the late actor Chadwick Boseman. Produced by Ludwig Göransson and co-written by Rihanna, Tems, Ludwig and director Ryan Coogler, this track gives fans a sneak peak into what to expect on the movie’s soundtrack.

The 2018 Black Panther movie welcomed songs from notable artists Kendrick Lamar, Vince Staples, Jorja Smith and more. Out this November, “Lift Me Up” is a ballad that not only signifies a brand-new chapter in Rihanna’s music career, but marks a new journey for the Marvel universe, with the Black Panther storyline now shifted from its original protagonist Chadwick Boseman.
