Yoke Lore releases a stirring and emotive docu-video detailing how we need to create safety for ourselves in 'Safe and Sound'.
If you’re unfamiliar, Yoke Lore is the solo musical venture of Adrian Galvin, previously of Yellerkin and Walk the Moon. After putting out three acclaimed EPs which gained him a loyal following— ‘Far Shore’, ‘Goodpain’, and ‘Absolutes‘ – 2019’s ‘Meditations EP’ strips several of Galvin’s familiar songs to their core by trading the usual electronic elements for arrangements of piano, horns, and strings.
Following the release of ‘Meditations’ comes the stunning visuals for ‘Safe and Sound’. Directed by Dylan Mulick, the video follows identical twin sisters Emilie and Brianna Gonzalez from LA as they prepare to compete in the Beat The Streets Los Angeles Freestyle Wrestling Championship. The song itself is a stirring observation on the changing roles relationships play in this era. Speaking about the video Yoke Lore says “This video is about learning how to create safety for ourselves. For Emilie and Brianna Gonzalez, wrestling is a place of prowess and freedom.”
After three years of non-stop touring supporting the likes of Bastille, and just having finished his first UK headlining tour, we can’t wait to see what is next for Yoke Lore. Until then, check out the visuals for ‘Safe and Sound’ below.
