The Manila-born artist, Tiana Kocher, serves up her sassy and sweet new single “Same Lame”.
Heading for the hub of all things music and entertainment – Los Angeles – in 2018, Tiana Kocher is already rocking the R&B world, despite being relatively new on the scene. Kocher has collaborated with the likes of Faith Evans, Sage the Gemini, and J. Álvarez, and in 2019, she opened A$AP Rocky’s set at XYLO Nightclub in Manila.
Kocher’s finger-clicking new single, “Same Lame”, has already racked up over 90,000 streams – and with its assured swagger and catchy beats, it’s sure to snap up a few more. Fitting for a song that won’t stand for bad behaviour, the Grammy award-winning T-Boz from TLC – the girl power trio behind the iconic track “No Scrubs” – provides a mellow contrast with her appearance on the single.
Kocher explains: “Growing up I’ve always listened to TLC and I consider them one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to my music alongside SWV, Aaliyah, Brandy, Tamia, and others. Working with Tboz was definitely a big ‘pinch me’ moment and I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to work with her and learn from her. We wanted to create the “No Scrubs” of 2021 so this is how the song came about. I want this song to serve as a friendly reminder to always remember your worth.”
