Having just launched his new solo project, Man Alive, Kodaline's Mark Prendergast drops new single "Colours". Marking the new chapter, he sets the scene with 10 colourful cuts.

From co-founding and playing in Kodaline to recently launching his own solo project, Man Alive, Mark Prendergast has carved out a career as rich and varied as it is successful (we’re talking three Number One albums in Ireland and over a billion streams).

 

It’s only fitting that his own personal music taste is just as eclectic, so to mark the opening of a new chapter, Mark selected us 10 essential colourful cuts – including new single, “Colours”. Bright and bouncy but laced with nuanced emotion, the track sets the perfect backdrop for a sunny summer day with a new love.

If you haven’t seen his Super Bowl half time show yet do yourself a favour and check it out. It rains during Purple Rain, come on.

"Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles

The Beatles were some craic. Their sense of humour and playfulness with lyrics are bursting out of this song.

"Back To Black" by Amy Winehouse

One of the best. This song is gut wrenching. That perfect collaboration of Amy and Mark Ronson together.
