“Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall” by Nia Archives
Starting the run is the hardest part, so I need a sweet treat to set the tone but bring a lot of energy at the same time. Nia Archives’ tracks are often part of my runs, and her brand new music is enough motivation to get me running.
“In 2 The Jungle” by Holloway
Holloway productions are never far from my DJ sets, radio shows or my running soundtracks either. Part of the Tempo extended family of DJs and musicians, they're an artist whose records make as much sense in the club as they do on a jog.
“Supa Natural - Honeydrip & Spud’s Breaks Mix” by Sputnik One, EMBY, Honeydrip
This is a track that gives me company on a run; there’s a lot of layers and elements that are interesting to follow and keep my mind off the actual running.
“Better Love” by Eliza Rose
When I’m running, I’m looking for a balance of deep and dark sounds to hold my pace, plus a few injections of sweetness to make me smile and keep me going. This is one of those spring running soundtracks that makes everything seem brighter.
“Hot Take” by Mia Koden
This track is a perfect example of the immersive, deeper sounds that are ideal for holding me in a flow state mid-way through the run. Mia Koden is an exciting new venture from one half of 140BPM royalty, Sicaria Sound and I’m looking forward to following their journey.
“Calling Out” by Overmono
Overmono are dropping an album in May that I’m hoping will be a highly compatible running soundtrack, and from what I’ve heard of the record so far, it seems it will be.
“Sinkhole” by Pearson Sound
This is my current DJing comfort track. It always gets a great reaction on the radio too and I have a bunch of fond memories playing it, so hearing it whilst running brings up all of those emotions.
“Boys A Liar Pt. 2 (Murder He Wrote Remix)” by PinkPantheress x Ice Spice
One of my favourite new pop songs, given an extra boost by Murder He Wrote.
“Circle” by imo-Lu
This is some beautiful dnb from Glasgow DJ, producer and accompanying pianist for Scottish Ballet and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I am so in love with imo-Lu's sound and am excited to hear more from her. This track is great for when I’m approaching the end of the run and have that last bit to go.
“Enough For Love” by Kelela
"Enough For Love" is my ultimate warm down track. Deep breaths and stretches to this make for a dreamy ending to any run. When I’m coaching at Tempo and I’m taking our runners through a warm-down sequence, I always offer a suggestion to let go of any tension and let go of the day. I think this song facilitates letting go.
