Ahead of a set at Defected Croatia this summer, DJ Paige Tomlinson selects 10Trax that epitomise her 90s influence, from acid house grooves to broken beat bangers.

Paige Tomlinson has been on an upwards trajectory since winning Defected Records’ ‘Unsung Heroes’ competition. Her ability to potently mix squelchy electro and deep techno with breakbeat stompers has warranted support from local Liverpool legends like Yousef and the always in-demand Dan Shake. Over the past year, she’s also dropped multiple mixes for Defected’s ‘Live from The Basement’ series, proving her dexterity with emotionally charged bass selections.

Inspired by the 90s, Paige’s unique shows traverse the era’s underground spectrum, keeping acid house alive with a contemporary twist. Continuing to turn heads thanks to a technical prowess and broad sonic repertoire, the sought after selector is also on this year’s Defected Croatia lineup, which is set to take place between August 3rd-8th.

To celebrate Paige’s recent success, we’ve asked her to select 10Trax that epitomise her 90s obsession, brimming with bangers from the decade. Jump in!

"Better With Gee" by Thermo Statik (The Spangly Water Mix)

This is such a high energy, euphoric track that fills the dance floor with smiles every time. It’s from ‘94 but still feels so fresh today!

"Chemical Generation" by Ninety Nine Allstars (99 Allstars Original Mix)

What a vibe. Pumping energy all the way through, what’s not to love about this track?

"Sensation Four" by Grant Nelson & Richard Purser

A 90s groover from the renowned Nice ‘N’ Ripe records, this track does the job every time.

"Funky Groove" by Norris The Boss Windross

A real old skool garage track from the legend Norris The Boss Windross. Seven straight minutes of pure funky groove. It does what it says on the tin.

"Come Together" (Club Mix) by Double FM

I’m all here for any track with a feel good organ. This 1995 release from Underground Music Movement is simply timeless.

"Da Da Da (Dance To The House)" by Lee Marrow

Lee Marrow never fails when it comes to a house heater. This is a real 90s anthem that’s always on my playlist.

"The Week" (AM Disco Remix) by Adrian Morrison

This one’s for the disco lovers, thanks to its driving bassline, solid drums and stand out vocals. It keeps the dance floor moving.

"Bodyswerve" (Club Mix) by M-Gee

Absolutely timeless vibes from this track, with the groovy base line and catchy vocals.

"Eurovision" (Piano Mix) by Deborah Aime La Bagarre

This track for me just screams feel good energy. The 90s piano house vibe never gets old!

"No Longer" by Dub Syndicate Productions

An absolute classic for me, this track has everything you’d want from a house groove. A true gem!

The latest instalment of Defected Croatia festival will take place between August 3rd-8th, boasting a diverse line up of dance music greats and the next generation of talent. Since its inception in 1999, the record label has become one of house music’s foremost global entities, keeping the genre alive on the hottest dance floors or festivals and club spaces worldwide.
