Sheffield rapper, Rickyleupnext, picks his 10 favourite tracks as he drops new single "Till I Die".
Deftly flowing between smooth, soulful vocals and gritty rap with a trap production, Rickyleupnext is a multifaceted artist who is burgeoning on the UK rap scene. Since starting out in 2018, the Sheffield native has aced R&B with his debut “Know That”, and nimbly moved through to rap and drill.
Among his first track appearances, Deep Green’s 2017 “Money” landed Rickyleupnext on the Sheffield O2 Academy stage as part of DJ Charlie Sloth’s “The Plug Tour”. Fellow Sheffield resident Deep Green has been a long-term collaborator and friend.
Yet the emerging artist did not always believe he was destined for the music industry. Before entering the rap realm, Rickyleupnext played basketball for England, Sheffield Saints, Sheffield Arrows, and his home county Yorkshire.
Now Rickyleupnext and Deep Green are back together for his new track, “Till I Die”, a versatile and hard-hitting single. Rap-lovers will be glad that Rickyleupnext swapped the courts for the mic.
