UK singer-songwriter and film director, Now Ex, embarks on a new era with his latest single “Somewhere Else”.

Now Ex, the brainchild of Emmy award-nominated artist Nick Hampson, started as a pop project to complement his big-screen pursuits. Covering a lot of the same ground, Nick’s films and music both create and explore parallel worlds laced with melancholic euphoria and a hunger for life. Teaming up with producer duo My Riot, the multi-faceted artist investigates similar themes with his powerful single “Somewhere Else” and cinematic video – a song about dislocation, distraction and the need to love yourself.

Discussing the track, Now Ex explains, ‘It tries to evoke the duality of relationships, going back and forth on what’s best for you, for them, for you both, until no one is sure what the right direction is anymore. We all need support, and there’s a fine line between the support you can give yourself and that which others need to provide. The song tries to explore where that line lies, in the hope of finding reassurance in the realisation that it’s okay to be alone, and it’s okay to admit you can’t be what someone else needs.’

Having enjoyed a hugely successful year already with half a million streams across four singles, Now Ex returns intending to approach his music with even more vulnerability. On a mission to fuse visual communication and music in a way no pop project has ever done before, Now Ex is sure to continue making waves throughout the industry.
