Award-winning rapper Vector returns with an earnest new full-length album ‘Teslim: the Energy Still Lives in Me’.

Chart-topping rapper Vector is back with a new full-length project ‘Teslin: The Energy Still Lives in Me’. Returning a few years after his last album, ‘VIBES BEFORE TESLIM: The Journey To Self Discovery’, this new record is a product five years in the making, built with Grammy-nominated producer Kleb as well as Kel-P, Cracker Mello, and Major Bangz.

Vector’s lyrical flair has gotten the artist an abundance of opportunity and praise throughout the years, including a record for the longest live rap freestyle on the continent. His new album is an introspective project honouring the artist’s late father and is compiled of 16 cuts. Throughout the album Vector channels themes of relationships, politics and his own experience with fatherhood.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the project, Vector says: “I thought I had an idea of what my album was going to be, then suddenly your dad passes, and you then start to understand that life is vain, you start to re-evaluate and rediscover the meaning of the things you do. I started to re-evaluate what I wanted my music to be like, what I wanted the message to carry, and how I wanted my music [to be]. I was also considering things – if life is a fleeting thing that we all can’t hold on to, how then is it easy for us to be distracted by things that we really don’t care about?”
