It's a Barbie World and we're living in it: from toothbrushes to a real-life Dream House, we rundown how the Barbie marketing team have gone all-out.

As fans prepare for the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie on the 21st of July, their marketing team have been releasing collaborations for people to truly get the full Barbie makeover experience. From toothbrushes, to suitcases, to a real life Malibu Barbie Dream House, everything is of course coated in a healthy-dose of Barbie pink.

Despite several trailers having been released, we’re still unsure as to what exactly we can expect. Quotes from the trailers have taken over social media with Barbie’s “Do you guys ever think about dying?” suggesting that Greta might have more than just a Barbie fun-house in store. In the meantime, we can indulge in the hyper-pink, Barbie-fication of capitalism.

Margot Robbie Barbie

Perhaps the most obvious collaboration so far are the new Mattel dolls. The collection features Margot Robbie’s Barbie in the pink gingham dress seen in the trailers, a Ryan Gosling Ken figure plus other characters from the film. A must-have for any collector, it’s a great way to celebrate the film’s release.

Barbie Selfie Generator

This Barbie is ridiculously excited about the Barbie movie. One of the first marketing campaigns by the team was the Barbie Selfie Generator, an AI image generator that took over Instagram and Twitter profile pictures for the first few weeks of its release. It allowed fans to create their own version of the ‘this Barbie’ marketing that had been used for the real cast – generate your own selfie here.

NYX Makeup

For makeup lovers, NYX has released a collection to recreate the looks from the film. Both of the Smooth Whip lipsticks are in the classic hot pink, available in either ‘Dreamhouse pink’ or ‘Perfect Day Pink’, while the collection also comes with a pastel pink flip phone mirror for some 90s nostalgia.

Impala Skates

A lot of the original hype for the film was created by leaked photos from the set that showed Barbie and Ken rollerskating in a costume based on the 1996 Inline Skating Barbie. Impala has since released a pair of inline skates, along with all-important protective gear so that fans can both look and act the part.

Xbox

A slightly unexpected collaboration between Microsoft and Barbie has resulted in a hot pink Xbox Series S console which sits inside a pastel pink Dreamhouse design. Some bad news: the console isn’t currently being sold and can only be won through a prize draw, however Barbie’s Corvette has been added into Forza Horizon 5 so those who don’t win can still experience Barbie-mania.

Béis Suitcase

For those looking to replicate Barbie’s life and travel in style, Béis have released a collection of hot pink suitcases and travel bags. It’s certainly one way of making sure that your bags stand out at luggage collections.

Ken Bus

While not technically a collectable item, fans have been having a field day on Twitter after the Ken bus was unveiled.

Airbnb

And finally, the Magnum Opus of Barbie Marketing is the Airbnb collaboration, as they designed a real life Barbie Dreamhouse in Malibu which is available to book from the 17th of July. “Designed by Ken”, it includes features like a pink slide, an outdoor disco and Ken’s closet. It’s the perfect way to get immersed in the film in a real-life Barbie World.
