From music to film: The Weeknd’s forthcoming movie is scored by Oneohtrix Point Never and features ‘Wednesday’ actor Jenna Ortega.

“Starboy” singer The Weeknd is currently working on a new movie, co-written by himself and director Trey Edward Shults. Recently teasing a glimpse of the film on both his Instagram and Twitter platforms, in less than 24 hours, the as-yet-untitled project has already surfaced a credible amount of traffic.

Scored by Oneohtrix Point Never, this new movie is scheduled to feature actors Jenna Ortega, (who recently impressed many with her captivating performance as Wednesday Addams in the new Netflix series Wednesday), and The Banshees Of Inisherin’s actor Barry Keoghan.

Between The Weeknd and Onetrorix Point Never, the two have crafted a comfortable working relationship. Collaborating with one another on The Weeknd’s 2022 album ‘Dawn FM’, the pair are once again joining forces, but this time for a movie soundtrack.

Following his cameo in the Netflix movie Uncut Gems in 2019, this year The Weeknd is set to appear in a new HBO series titled The Idol. Stepping up his game in the film industry, between his highly-anticipated movie to his forthcoming role in The Idol, it’s fair to say the singer-songwriter could well be another name to add to the list of artists-turned-movie-stars.
