Listen to AmPm’s house-heavy debut album, ‘Traveling Without Moving’ for a sonic journey through experience and personal reflection.

Serving as a “window into [AmPm’s] personal stories” and drawing on their own journeys, ‘Traveling Without Moving’ is a musical narrative imbuing listeners with the essence of travel. It features 10 artists from the UK, Singapore, and Japan, including hotly-tipped Lilly Ahlberg and RAENE. Drawing on inspiration from a wide range of electronic genres, with house at the centre, AmPm delve into the emotions and memories associated with vibrant metropolitan society for the project.

The project sees the masked duo curating a collection of airy pop songs and inviting listeners into their blissful dreamscape. Each track benefits from its own identity, a blend of their signature lush harmonies, euphonious melodies and pulsing rhythms. We have created a work that can give an individually unique experience to our listeners,” explain the band. “We also wanted to fully express house music, which is at the core of our sound. It’s a very original sound; a sense of pop, but also with speed and exuberance, with house music at the heart of it. This album is a signature of what AmPm are, and we’re proud to say that we’ve made a house music album that represents the year 2023.”

The creative unit has been DJing for years, though previously under different names. Feeling ostracised from the Western club scene as Asian musicians, they made the decision to reclaim their storytelling power by adopting masks and changing their name. As a pair, the Tokyo dwellers have dominated huge stages around the world, including a headline show in New York, remixed tracks for Afrojack and Nicky Romero, and released over thirty tracks to date.

Featuring tracks “Wake Up” with Lilly Ahlberg, “Haven” with Hana Hope, and “Sweet Escape” feat RAENE, ‘Traveling Without Moving’ is the eclectic offering of the summer, promising to soundtrack warm days and sweaty nights all season long.
