"In My Skin" by Katriine

Katriine shares the euphoria of being allowed to truly be herself in her brand new EP, from which the rousing tune “In My Skin”, which navigates social challenges on the way to self-acceptance, is taken. She says, “In My Skin I wrote with Clara Maria. We wrote about our experience growing up mixed race. The sort of difficulties that can come with not feeling black enough or white enough to be categorised as either and missing a place where you feel you belong. But sort of realising that that sense of not belonging also comes from your own head, not just from others asking you silly questions. And once you sort of let go of the negative thoughts you put on yourself you start feeling free and you realise that being who you are is good enough.”

"DTB" by IMVN

IMVN puts her best foot forward with the effortless confidence of her new single “DTB”, which precedes a debut EP to come. She says, ‘"This is the resolution. You’re at a stage where you’ve made decisions, and you’re better off for it. You may not believe cutting people off in order to progress is right but this song is you telling yourself, commanding yourself. Getting rid of the toxic people around you is the cure to growing, bettering yourself. DTB is the song where you’re gonna be feeling yourself, instead of in your feelings; championing who you are. It’s blunt, dismissive and unapologetic. It’s the voice of someone who knows who they are, and flaunts their internal strength.”

"KIWI" by EFÉ

"29" by Baby Dave

Isaac Holman, the frontman of British indie staple Slaves, is going solo with his own act, Baby Dave. An album is coming this summer, and the first taste – the bus ride-inspired “29” is now out. On the coming album, Holman says, ““Monkey Brain is collection of tunes written from shortly after a debilitating mental breakdown at the start of 2019, up until now. Around half of the tunes on the record co-produced by Damon Albarn who also plays various instruments throughout. I don’t know where this project would be if it wasn’t for him and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him and observe his wizardry. It was a proper game changer for me. Thank you for your patience, it shouldn’t have taken this long but ongoing issues with my mental health have made putting this record together incredibly challenging. Here we are though, we got there in the end. Can’t wait for you lot to hear it.”
