Undiscovered is a weekly playlist sharing our pick of the best new music from the world's most exciting emerging musicians. You heard it here first.
"Potential" by Amber-Simone
A blisteringly groovy tune from East London's Amber-Simone. Her decadent vocals are perfectly matched by cinematic instrumentals on this one.
"Wet Dream" by Wet Leg
One of the most applauded bands to make their debut this year, Wet Leg again pairs humorous lyrics with an earworm tune. Believe it or not, Wet Leg's latest is a post-break-up song, although you wouldn't guess it from the upbeat melody.
"TALK BACK" by Raheaven
A laid back trap-infused single which makes full use of Raheaven's syrupy vocals.
"joyrider" by second thoughts
Alt-rockers second thoughts provide joyful guitar hooks and backseat tunes - we won't be having second thoughts about this one.
"5'1" by Greta Isaac
Announcing her largest headline show to date at Omeara, London this October, Greta Isaac has wheeled out another hit that weighs up bare emotion and tongue-in-cheek self-awareness in equal measure.
"YOU" by OXi
Burgeoning musician OXi's new single "You" recognises that we all have the potential to be toxic. "Many of us have been there, in those scenarios where there is someone you care about, it fails and you look everywhere but at yourself. I just tried to express that feeling honestly and openly throughout the track. We recorded it in Matrix studios, it was my first time there but I knew as soon as I’d listened back to my first take that this was it", he explains. For those new to his music, OXi told Notion that this is a "real example of his sound".
"let u go" by Joey Knight
Joey Knight's heartbreak tune is one to snuggle up to - a comforting blanket in song form. The 22-year-old has been collaborating with Issey Cross, Tayo Sound, Jalle and Sfven - this is his very first single.
"Summer 21" by Dreya Mac
The West London artist Dreya Mac is one of the swiftest rappers on the rise - her tracks are ones you won't be able to refuse.
"Stargazing" by SPINN
The Liverpool-hailing 4-piece are back after a two year hiatus and their chirpy tunes are as good as ever - "Stargazing" is a groove that will get into your bones.
"3 star hotel escape" by kid apollo
With hints of hip-hop, trap and alt-rock, kid apollo bring a compellingly fresh sound to meet charmingly shrugging vocals.
"Zero" by cktrl
In collaboration with Grammy-nominee Mereba, the first track from cktrl's next EP is truly delectable.
"The Ground" by Henry Carlyle
The guitarist from beloved band The Orielles has gone solo, and his first serving of independence is delightfully blasé and swaggering.
"energies" by LEAP
Jacky Balfour Scott, otherwise known as LEAP, unleashes a freewheeling single with a dark edge. On the track, he says: "Being bi-polar, it’s such a weird blessing and a curse, because when your brain’s going at 100 miles per hour it’s exhilarating… but it can also be really dangerous. The song is about that contradiction and I just hope that anyone suffering from any kind of mental health issue can connect with it.”
