Singer-songwriter Lola Aviva drops new single “Wait on the Steps”.

Lola Aviva is a rising artist to take note of, producing her own modern takes on soul, funk, and blues elements. Still only 23, her career so far has led to solo performances alongside her three-piece band, in venues like The Dublin Castle, as well as an appearance on BBC Radio London’s ‘The Gaby Roslin Show’. Back with a new single, things are getting exciting for Lola Aviva.

Boasting her first ‘fully formed single’ as written aged just seven, Lola taught herself to play the guitar, citing an eclectic mix of influences from Carole King, Etta James and Amy Winehouse and The Noisettes. Carving a reputation for poetic lyrics and carefully crafted melodies, her latest track “Wait on the Steps” is quintessential Lola Aviva.

Speaking on the track, Lola describes “Wait on the Steps” as about “the internal battle we all have faced. Telling yourself you never want to see that person again, knowing full well you would wait up all night for them.” Continuing to explain the mood of the single, she feels it encapsulates “a jazzy, sexy and funky feeling that you get when you know you’re doing something you shouldn’t”.
