Manchester is a city that knows a thing or two about a good gig. Having birthed everyone from Joy Division to Bugzy Malone, its music scene is rivaled only by London so we knew we had to bring our A-game for the #SONEGXNOTION tour’s date in the second city. Luckily, we only have an A-game so that wasn’t much of an issue and with IV Rox, MIAMIGO, Rosie Lowe and VAULTS in tow we stormed Manchester’s beloved Night & Day Cafe.
IV Rox’s urban-flavoured pop set the night off to a flying start, the Sneakbo featuring ‘Pumping’ getting feet moving early on. Then it was on MIAMIGO to move things into a more electronic, 80s vibe with their funk-laden indielectro concoctions before Rosie Lowe turned the groove up, even more, wowing the crowd with her jaw-dropping vocals and providing the best basslines of the night. Support acts out the way the evening’s headliner VAULTS took to the stage, gracing the crowd with her elegant, ethereal compositions as well as the strangest looking piece of percussion we’ve seen for some time. Watch it below and see the pics from the night here.
