Ed Staal releases new track "WHY", a vulnerable questioning of the feelings when a relationship ends.

Following up to his last single “Baby Blue” released early this summer, rising artist Ed Staal is back with another pitch-perfect pop tune. New track “WHY” is a heartfelt exploration of a relationship ending, and that relatable feeling when you can’t help but wonder ‘why?’.

Already picking up over 150,000 streams on Spotify, Ed has garnered regular support from the likes of BBC Introducing. Working within a team of creators, ‘Syndicate Management’, his upcoming EP was created in collaboration with artist/producer Dom Porter. Titled ‘Battle Scars & Broken Hearts’ the project looks set to bring Ed to listeners old and new alike, brimming with his smooth brand of earworm melodies and laidback beats.

Newest single “WHY” steers away from the vintage soul elements of “Baby Blue”, shifting towards a more R&B inspired pop sound. Talking about the track, Ed explains: ““WHY’ is a song I wrote a long time ago after parting ways with someone I truly loved and comes from a place in my heart as pure and true as any song I’ve ever made. For me this song will always be a reminder of how frustrating it can be to truly care for someone that just isn’t right for you, and how uncontrollably irrational love can be.”
