Molly Roberts has released her stirring debut single, "Wings to Fly".

Molly Roberts has been studying music and learning from the best over the course of these past two years, and it’s clear the intense difficulties of life during that period have filtered directly into her art.

Like her inspirations Carole King and Joni Mitchell, Roberts’ mission is to turn tough times into inspiring and uplifting music – her first single, “The Sun After The Rain”, was fittingly dedicated to NHS Together.

Now based in London and with a host of talented collaborators working alongside her, Roberts has put out her official debut single, “Wings To Fly”. Beginning with Roberts’ delicate, emotionally stirring vocals, the song brings in the moving accompaniments of a live string section and piano to accentuate the emotions on display, building to a truly meaningful conclusion.

On the song, Roberts says, “Wings To Fly is a song about resilience and hope and having enough courage to follow your dreams, no matter how difficult it may be or how many challenges you face. The overall message of the song is about seizing the day and learning to embrace change. I wrote ‘Wings To Fly’ quite quickly in the summer of 2021. I was listening to a lot of Joni Mitchell and Carole King and so I tried to write something which was both emotional but also simple. I didn’t want too much production on the track either. I recorded a version with a much larger orchestration with percussion and synths but instead decided that a simple and more classic arrangement worked better. I decided to record and add a live string quartet to the track too which I think enhanced the emotional build of the song.”
