Hear Sophie Blair's electro-pop bop, "AIR I BREATHE", for the first time ahead of its release tomorrow.

Sophie Blair’s “AIR I BREATHE” is an immediately danceable number.

Thumping synths beat throughout the track as Blair’s breathy vocals intertwine with the melody. The track is reminiscent of Robyn and Sigrid – making a great new addition to any pop playlist.

Tapping into a shimmering 80s electro-pop soundscape, “AIR I BREATHE” is Sophie Blair’s second release to date, following her debut single “Don’t Be Like That!” in June this year.

“AIR I BREATHE” is probably the most honest love song I’ve written,” Sophie explains. “It’s all true—no sugarcoating, no fabricating—and it is in all of its ferocious depth about the very real, very lovely, very all-encompassing way I feel about my lover. I see different images in this song—looking out over LA from the top of a parking garage—falling asleep in my clothes night after night as we stay up talking—the feeling of frenetic tumbling in hyper-speed down something so wild and thrilling and for me, new: loving someone in a safe way. Prior to this, all I’d felt was chaos, uncertainty, anxiety, and fear in relationships. This felt new, feels like home; feels like everything. I wanted to write about that feeling.”

Sophie Blair’s upcoming debut EP pulls on themes of the same vein: overpowering emotions. In it, she digs into her adolescent feels of hurt and loss, transformation, but also complete and irrevocable joy.

“AIR I BREATHE” will be released on 7 August 2020 via Wonderwild Records.
