Teaming up with Notion and viral sensation Henry Moodie, Azar is hosting a one-off gig at University of Birmingham to bring university students together IRL this 19th January 2024.

Going to university is often framed as one of the most exciting times of our lives – a fresh start, with unlimited opportunities to find both independence and our people. But it’s also an experience that can feel isolating. From living away from loved ones to juggling adult responsibilities and heavy workloads, there’s pressure to take it all in our stride – especially when it comes to making and keeping up with friends.

For everyone struggling to make connections and meet people, or for those who just want to meet more, Azar’s app is a tool to help students uncover new ways of making friends. Following a survey they conducted with Censuswide interviewing Gen-Z university students that found 70% experience loneliness at least once a week, Azar are launching an interactive art installation at Birmingham universities, which provides a creative new way to facilitate connections.

Azar has teamed up with illustrator Tess Smith-Roberts on an art mural takeover across Birmingham’s universities. And as 75% of students find concerts and gigs a positive, fun way to stay connected – with both themselves and others – the campaign includes the opportunity to win tickets to a free, exclusive Henry Moodie performance at the university of Birmingham on 19th January 2024.

All those wishing to attend have to do to enter is to download the Azar app via this link or by scanning the QR code at an art mural at the University of Birmingham, Aston and the City of Birmingham University. When downloaded, this article link to win tickets will be pushed through notifications on the app where users can sign-up to get access to free tickets for this exclusive gig.

You won’t be able to miss them, either – with uplifting colours and comforting affirmation messages, the murals will be present across the University of Birmingham, with smaller versions also at Aston and Birmingham City universities.
