The new Bristol-based FORWARDS festival has announced some exciting first details, including headliners.

This summer promises the fully-fledged return of festival season, and there’s a new event to add to the packed calendar: the two-day FORWARDS festival, which will be setting up camp in Bristol this September.

The festival focuses on the power of social gathering as a political act – a means of demonstrating unity, and also of bringing together different viewpoints for lively debate on today’s most pressing issues. The full programme, to be announced this Spring, will contain numerous activists and political speakers.

To kick off the festival’s rollout, FORWARDS has announced an impressive lineup of international headliners, including BRIT-nominated Little Simz, Jamie XX, Khruangbin, Caribou, Roisin Murphy and Shygirl, with much more to come!

FORWARDS is a collaboration between AEG Events, responsible for All Points East and Coachella, and the local organisation Team Love, whose social mission is perfectly in keeping with the ethos of FORWARDS. The festival aims to partner with local talent and activists to provide community support and catering throughout.

The festival will take place in Clifton Downs from 3-4 September this year. Information about tickets will be coming soon.
