For the second video in our series celebrating International Women's Day, we meet NiNE8 collective member, Nayana.

Challenging the female music industry with every note, meet the 17-year-old North Londoner with a lot of talents under her y2k diamante belt. Vocalist and MC Nayana is setting the waves with her vintage hip-hop flow sprinkled by ethereal and delicate jazzy vibes. Channelling nothing but wisdom in her smooth repertories, Nayana is a strong female voice with immense intelligence who is rapidly becoming a familiar face to the city creatives scene. Stimulated and inspired by the likes of MF Doom, Roy Ayers, Tupac, Erykah Badu, N.E.R.D and Esperanza Spalding, Nayana aka ‘Iz’ is intertwining her sound with her inspirations to create a uniquely experimental take on Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul and Trap. Standing tall as a pioneer for young entrepreneurial creatives in London, Nayana is also co-founder of Hydration Station alongside Lava La Rue and Ellie Worldwide, a label designed to provide queer women and people with a musical platform, ensuring there is a space for all to be expressive and create.
