Moglii teams up with Joel Montagud of Lion Sphere for the new soul-pop jam ‘Face 2 Face’.

Released today, “Face 2 Face” is a collaboration between Cologne-based producer/singer Moglii and Berlin singer Joel Montagud of future-soul band Lion Sphere.

Moglii (Simon EbenerHolscher) and Joel wrote the intricate soul-pop opus about the challenges of digital-age romances in lockdown. Teeming with infectious vocal harmonies courtesy of Joel, “Face 2 Face” is a bubbly, warm number that you can sink into from the start.

On the track, Moglii says: “We wrote this song about our expectations towards a modern romance. A call for honesty especially in the fragility of a long-distance relationship. The promise that technology gives us nowadays is to bridge the gap between places and bring us closer together. Video calls or messaging can quickly create misunderstandings when this is the only form of communication. In the end, nothing can substitute a face to face conversation.”

Starting his musical career as a classically trained jazz pianist, Moglii developed a trademark production style of warm beats, analogue synthesisers and soulful vocal samples, which together blends into a cocktail of “organic electronic”. Influenced by Mura Masa, James Blake, Bon Iver and Flume, “Face 2 Face” is Moglii’s first song to be released this year.
