Emerging designer coordinator Fashion East invite Karoline Vitto and Standing Ground back to the runway, alongside newcomer Johanna Perv.

Supporting designers with mentoring schemes, Fashion East have announced its roster for their London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023 showcase. Returning to the fold, Brazillian-born designer Karoline Vitto will be joined by  Standing Ground, and newcomer Johanna Parv. The three womenswear designers, who sit alongside alumni Kim Jones OBE and Martine Rose, have promising careers in their sights and will present their work on the runway this month.

First up, Karoline Vitto celebrates overlooked aspects of the female form and sees inclusivity as fundamental to modern fashion. Reaching international critical claim for her SS23 show, the designer counts Shygirl, Paloma Elsseser and Precious Lee as fans and respecters of her uplifting outlook on femininity.

Joining Karoline, Irish designer Michael Stewart, who runs the brand Standing Ground, takes a couture approach to womenswear. Championed for his subtle brilliance, the craftsman spotlights proportionality and silhouette to create elegance and purity.

Lastly, Estonian-born Johanna Parv focuses on contemporary luxury and performance wear. The designer, who graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2020, spent time at Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Burberry before starting her namesake label. Becoming increasingly influenced by functionality, Johanna seeks inspiration from the female city cyclist.

The shows will take place on Friday 17th February, supported by the program’s long standing partner, Nike.
