Havana Club and Burna Boy team up to create a limited-edition bottle and short film celebrating their shared values.

Known for collaborating with the world’s biggest artists on rich, story-driven campaigns, this summer Havana Club has partnered with Burna Boy. Working with the brand, the world-renowned artist has injected the collaboration with his own story and values – which shine through in the bottle design, campaign imagery and accompanying film.

Inspired by a traditional Nigerian fabric, the bottle label is a stand-out with vibrant colours and an eye-catching design. From the Aso Oke-inspired background (a handwoven textile worn for special occasions in Nigeria), to the palm leaves crown around the logo (a nod to the African Union Emblem), and even his own name handwritten, it’s infused with heritage and meaning.

The accompanying hero movie, shot in Nigeria and London in April, reflects the vibrancy of the bottle design. Authentic and heartfelt, DOP Meji Alabi wanted it to feel filmic in nature. With a voice over by Burna himself pushing the film forward, it captures the beauty of culture, the strength of community values, and the joy of representing his roots. Pushing the importance of telling your story yourself, the campaign acts as a connector – between Lagos and London, scene to scene, artist to fan.

“For the longest time… All I ever wanted to be, is what I am today. An icon, a symbol… No, much more – a giant. Carving a path for my people. Because a dream is only as powerful as the places it is able to take us to… And the people we share it with,” Burna Boy says in the film. “Everything I pour into this bottle of Havana Club Rum is inspired by the places important to me, coursing through the white foamy waters of Lagos beach, to the vibe of Shoreditch.”

Available exclusively via ecomm and convenience stores in July. Grab your bottle here and here.
