With a rumour mill that began turning in March after a leaked Instagram post, an Adidas X Balenciaga's Triple S sneaker collab is possibly on the horizon.
In the year that’s witnessed Balenciaga’s collaborations with Gucci, Crocs, and Yeezy Gap to name a few, is there a new link-up on the horizon? The sneakerhead community seems to think so, with various reports this week once again outlining first looks of rumoured Adidas X Balenciaga Triple S Trainers.
According to the imagery so far, the shoes are a nod to the classic adidas Superstars, in a black and white colourway. Adidas three-stripes are combined with BALENCIAGA text on the heels and insoles.
What do we know about the shoes so far? They were first reported by Instagram sneaker leak page @apolloluo1976 back in March, with the ‘first look’ greeted by mixed reactions. There were some excited punters, and other followers in the comments asking if they were being trolled. As the months rolled on, Sneaker Bar Detroit, a source created to give sneaker lovers a reliable source for info and release dates, further fuelled the proverbial Balencadidas fire.
Reporting with certainty, rather than acknowledging the question of authenticity, SBD released further imagery of the Triple S’s. They report the shoes as set to drop this year. Have a look and decide for yourself, but whether fact or fiction, you’re never far from the announcement of another big brand collaboration.
