What To Watch: Rye Lane
I broke my cinema celibacy this week, after not going since the age of 16, to watch South London’s new romcom Rye Lane. The film follows Yas and Dom, who bump into each other after their respective breakups, navigating their day through finding closure. Charming, witty and showcasing South-East’s finest sights, the film will make you laugh out loud and go all mushy.
Iconic Look: Dove Cameron for Carolina Herrera
I am so glad Dove Cameron is getting her moment of “it girl” status. The ex-Disney star was shot by Elizaveta Porodina for the Carolina Herrera S/S 23 campaign, taking inspiration from The Secret Garden. After Dove sported one of my favourite looks from the Met Gala 2022, I am very much here for her fashion girlie era.

Demi Lovato is back making our eardrums burst (a compliment) as she re-records a rock version of her song “Heart Attack”. I can only imagine the trauma my neighbours had to go through as I attempted to murder this song on SingKingKaraoke YouTube’s channel aged 13. Demi continues to prove herself as one of the best vocalists of this generation with this re-record and after recreating her ‘STAY AWAY FROM HER! GET A JOB!’ meme earlier this month, she never fails to remind me why she was always one of my favourite Disney girls growing up.

What To Wear: Tracksuit Shorts
Daylight savings has passed and we are officially en route to tinnies in the park and complaining it’s too hot. I’ve been keeping my eyes on tracksuit shorts/ three-quarters for the next few months – when it’s hot enough to convince yourself that it is shorts weather while still accepting the fact that we are in the United Kingdom.
Iconic Moment: Gwyneth Paltrow Ski Trial
I may know nothing about the court of law, but what I can recognise is an iconic pop culture moment when I see it. Gwyneth Paltrow is being sued for a skiing incident from 2016 – a court case that has Twitter tuned in. Impeccable outfits, sparkling water bottles, Taylor Swift shoutouts and Gwyneth counter suing for one dollar, it’s up there in the celeb-court hall of fame with Naomi Campbell’s 2010 court case.

Not So Iconic Moment: Harry Styles & Emily Ratajkowski spotted kissing
What should have been the hottest potential couple to come out of 2023 has been ruined by a video of them kissing like two 14-year-olds at a house party after a half bottle of Malibu. Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski were spotted kissing in Japan this week and I don’t know what’s more upsetting: Harry Styles kissing someone else or Harry Styles being a bad kisser.
