munro is making waves in the electronic world with his brand-new singles “Butterfly” and “Pineal”, out via Quality Goods Records.

Under a new alias, producer Ian Munro is back on the dance scene and is armed with two heavy hitters “Butterflies” and “Pineal”. “Butterflies” has a rhythmic complexity characteristic of some of the electronic scene’s most popular tunes, while “Pineal” takes a more cerebral approach. With muffled vocal chops and warm tones, the track’s sentimentality in no way takes from its innate danceability.

No newcomer to the industry, the artist has spent the past half-decade refining his sound and honing his on-stage charisma. This has led to recognition from some of music’s most prominent names including Diplo, Skrillex and San Holo. With sold-out shows under his belt and swathes of support from leading acts, munro’s title as a rising star is certainly being cemented.

Speaking on the meaning behind his new double single, munro explains: “For me, these records were a creative exercise in rethinking how I write music – foregoing some heavy toplines and letting the feeling speak for itself. There’s so much that can be said with an instrumental track, or through sampling – and I really wanted to tap into that”.
