New Zealand artist and producer munro shares an official music video for his brand-new single “About You” via Quality Goods Records.
Formerly known as Ian Munro, munro is the beginning of a new chapter for the New Zealand-born artist. Having shared “About You” in late autumn, munro is back with visuals to accompany the electronic dance track. Out today via Quality Goods Records, throughout the music video munro uses the AI program StableFusion to create vibrant visuals for “About You”.
Throughout his career, the artist has successfully accumulated around 15 million streams across a range of streaming platforms. Having previously played sold-out shows with UZ at SXSW and Quality Goods Records’ LA showcase, it’s fair to say munro is no stranger to a stage. “About You” follows on from his lo-fi electronica releases “Better Off Not Knowing” and “Every Day (Is Always The Same)”.
Speaking about the direction he had for the music video, munro says: “I wanted to tackle the direction for this video in a way that flipped the narrative of the songwriting on its head. I’ve always loved the idea that art exists in this ambiguous space of negotiated interpretations – no matter what you intend the message to be, someone’s going to hear it, feel it, and see it entirely differently. Watch it over and over again and you’ll find new hidden pieces in there”.
