The model and activist Munroe Bergdorf has teamed up with Spotify to launch her very first podcast.

With a number of stars swept along by a podcasting tsunami wave (not long ago Charli XCX announced her first podcast “Best Song Ever”), the ground-breaking model and activist Munroe Bergdorf is the latest to join the siege.

On Monday, Bergdorf gave liftoff to “The Way We Are with Munroe Bergdorf”, a podcast released through Spotify which invites its celebrity guests to uncover – quite literally – why they are the way they are. Chronicling each guest’s “adversity to growth”, every episode entails deep and contemplative conversations about formative experiences and their impact on the way they live now.

Across 20 episodes, Bergdorf will host Jameela Jamil, Olly Alexander, Adam Lambert, Skin, MNEK, Zara Larsson, Jade Thirlwall, Hayley Kiyoko, Rochelle Humes, Victoria Pedretti, and more. “The Way We Are with Munroe Bergdorf” has already opened with a stirring conversation with Mabel on her heritage, tussling with labels, and her relationship with the music industry.

Bergdorf commented: “I’m so excited to be launching my first podcast “The Way We Are” with Spotify. It’s about having open, honest and vulnerable conversations about growth, the ways that we all evolve and how we change as people over the years. The message behind it is that we all have a story, that there is a reason why we are the way we are, and that through sharing and listening to the experiences that have shaped each other we can begin to better understand and support one another, especially marginalised communities. This podcast has been a dream project for me – I love how much my guests have opened up and I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to interview some of my all time heroes! I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

New episodes will be released via Spotify every Monday. “The Way We Are with Munroe Bergdorf” is created by pioneering podcast production company Mags Creative. Episode 1 is available here.
