Sounding out the valleys once again, Green Man Festival has announced its full line-up.
The lush green inclines of the Black Mountains, embedded in the Brecon Beacons, are the turf of mountain climbers, trekkers – and international music lovers. From 19-22nd August this year, Wales’s biggest music, science, and arts festival will head to the hillsides afresh for a much-anticipated line-up of artists and events.
Headlining The Mountain Stage will be Daniel Victor Snaith’s electronic eclectic band Caribou, Scottish rockers Mogwai, and Irish five-piece Fontaines D.C.
Joining the ranks are Django Django, Grammy-winning Thundercat, Nadine Shah, Gruff Rhys, Matt Maltese, This Is The Kit, and The Staves, whose sounds will thunder through the mountains. Green Man Rising 2020 winners Nuha Ruby Ra, The Surfing Magazines, and Boy Azooga will also be taking this stage.
Pioneering Swedish electronic band Little Dragon will headline at the Far Out stage, with afrobeat band KOKOROKO, collective Steam Down, punk artist Shame, band Black Midi, Goat Girl, Georgia, Self Esteem, a return from Peaness, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, and heritage band Teenage Fanclub all in tow.
That’s not all. In the idyllic setting of The Walled Garden, Viagra Boys, Greentea Peng, The Orielles, Liz Lawrence, Sinead O’Brien, Hen Ogledd, Gwenno, Deep Throat Choir, Vanishing Twin, and Pictish Trail will be making appearances. Post-headliner entertainment will follow from Ross From Friends, Kelly Lee Owens, Hannah Holland, Charlotte Church, and Deptford Northern Soul Club to keep you dancing.
The Rising Stage will see Egyptian Blue, Do Nothing, Lazarus Kane, Faux Real, The Goa Express, Drug Store Romeos, Prima Queen, and more.
Green Man spans 10 areas, with art installations, a Welsh Beer Festival, busking and craft workshops, science, film, comedy, and literature soon to be revealed. There’s plenty on offer for families, with designated areas for children and teens.
Fiona Stewart, managing director and owner of Green Man has said: “At times it seemed like a dream that we would ever be back in the fields together, I can’t tell you how much it means to me, and the thousands of people that rely upon and make Green Man happen, that it’s actually going ahead. We cannot wait to see people enjoy the festival again!”
Attendees must take a lateral flow test 48 hours before arrival or prove that they have been double vaccinated at least 14 days before the festival.
2021 tickets are currently all sold out – but you still have a fighting chance of grabbing one. The re-sale of any refunded tickets will be held on Tuesday, 27th July at 10 am.
