On Notion Now this week, fresh musical flavours from Little Simz, Central Cee, FLO, PinkPantheress, and more.

"Gorilla" by Little Simz

Shaking up everyone’s end of year lists, Little Simz’s new album ‘NO THANK YOU’, drops plenty of gems for fans to dissect. “Gorilla”, thanks to Inflo’s flittering funk production, brings out a multitude of matter-of-fact flows, which Simz uses to relaxingly boast about her accolades.

"LET GO" by Central Cee

Sampling Passenger’s “Let Her Go”, Central Cee’s number one-worthy new single shows his more vulnerable side. Delivering wordplay with an audible distress, the rapper, who’s had a standout 2022, once again remixes a modern hit to make one of his own.

"Take me home" by PinkPantheress

“Take me home” is a rare track from PinkPantheress, in that it comes in at just over the three minute mark. Blossoming into a global superstar, the Bath native has a unique ability to repurpose ‘underground’ genres with a pop flare. This song is no different.

"Man On A Misson (feat. SL)" by A1 x J1, SL

Fans are calling this new release the perfect link up, and it’s hard to disagree. SL’s flow matches the sincere beat, whilst A1 x J1 bring their undeniable versatility to the track. It’s refreshing to see such young artists look so introspectively, rather than binding to rap music’s often recurrent misogyny.

"Losing You" by FLO

Giving off early 2000s vibes, Flo’s new single “Losing You” is a nostalgic banger. Tapping the hearts of many, the hook speaks to relationship insecurities. The sweet harmonies and vocal performances add texture and make for a compelling listen.

"DESPACHÁ RMX" by ROSALÍA, Cardi B

Originally on ROSALÍA’s Motonami record, DESPACHÁ’s latin-infused house tones were perfect for summer parties. Revamping the single with Cardi B, the Spanish singer continues to provide fans with bold songs possessing a giddy charm, much like this remix.

"Living in the Grey" by Circa Waves

“Living In The Grey” is the latest track to be taken from Circa Waves’ forthcoming album ‘Never Going Under’, which is out in January. The single is a comparably introspective cut in the band’s back catalogue.

"Daily Duppy (Dem Dead)" by Stefflon Don

Combing dancehall and drill flavours in a way only Stefflon Don can, “Daily Duppy (Dem Dead)” looks to the rapper’s past to create something fresh. Taken from Stefflon’s Daily Duppy debut earlier this week, the track possesses a freestyle flavour unique to the platform.

"3450" by BERWYN

Another beautifully sincere banger from BERWYN, “3450” expresses the pain he’s experienced with loss. The soft but unpredictable electronic production matches the wordsmith's poetic flow and shrill hook.

“Love Proceeding” by BADBADNOTGOOD - Macroblank Remix

Out now on all platforms, Macroblank’s remix of BADBADNOTGOOD’s “Love Proceeding” is a more stripped back affair than the original. Preserving BBNG’s jazzy flair but repackaging it around his signature gravelly textures the lofi remix is a welcome switch up.
