YMC pay homage to the post-punk revolution in their SS20 collection with references to subcultures that were birthed in the 80s.
Britain’s long history of revolutionary music and pioneering fashion have created a rich tapestry. For SS20 YMC have unravelled threads from this tapestry in order to weave new iterations of the post-punk fashions of the early 80s.
Occupying the space between punk and the new romantic movement, this collection updates the familiar and reimagines the classic along with YMC’s signature less is more approach to contemporary design. Their stylised vision of this UK movement incorporated military as well as bondage detail, and for SS20 YMC pay homage to this.
