The Vintage Acting challenge is the latest craze sweeping TikTok. Here's what you need to know...

It’s hard to keep up with the fast-paced nature of TikTok challenges at the best of times, but this one seems to be here to stay. Perfect for an app designed for maximum entertainment, the Vintage Acting challenge has been inspiring budding actors, comedians and performers around the world to step back in time.

Giving off a real nostalgic Hollywood cinema vibe thanks to the black and white or sepia-toned videos, this trend sees TikTokers team up to dress up and read out old movie scripts together. With the lines displayed on the screen, this is one trend that’s easy to follow.

Originally started by Chris Barnett, the TikToker behind most of the Vintage Acting challenges, tons of people have duetted with Chris for modern takes on golden-age films.

With over one million followers, Chris challenges people of all acting abilities to get involved in creating a mini-scene. Each person’s lines show up in different colours so it is simple to follow, and the first actor leaves gaps with enough time for you to say your line.

Time to take part before the next TikTok craze takes hold…
