The YouTube Originals documentary, Dear Earth, has an all-star cast, from Billie Eilish to Barack Obama and BLACKPINK.

A new documentary calling for action against climate change, Dear Earth, has just launched its trailer, starring the likes of David Attenborough and BLACKPINK.

 

Calling for viewers to “join the movement”, the film promises “100 minutes of optimism”, encompassing sustainable fashion to grassroots activism. The trailer sees appearances from Billie Eilish, Jaden Smith, Tinashe, Lil Dicky and GaTa, Anitta, Marsai Martin, Desmond Tutu, Sundar Pichai, and more.

 

Dear Earth, which will stream live on YouTube on the day of its release, is an “epic global celebration of our planet” as well as a call to arms against climate catastrophe. The synopsis explains: “Dear Earth shows us the latest in innovation, technology, and the sustainable revolution that’s about to take place.”

 

David Attenborough’s dulcet tones are given a stern urgency – asked whether this event can make a change, he answers: “I have to believe that because I think it’s probably our last chance”.

 

Dear Earth will be screened on YouTube on 23 October.
