Hyped artist KAWS teases his collaboration with The North Face on Instagram
Painter, sculptor, and graffitist KAWS transports us into his iconic world “outside the lines” with his latest collaboration with The North Face. Using TNF’s high-performance outerwear as a canvas, the artist continues to push for innovation with eye-catching flair.
The North Face XX KAWS collaboration flexes a playful colour palette and abstract patterns, breathing new life into The North Face’s most timeless pieces. Spanning accessories, luggage and apparel with a focus on perception and visibility, the collection ensures you’ll be slaloming on the slopes in style.
If 2021 was the year of collaborations, KAWS was indeed prolific. The Brooklyn-based artist’s venture with The North Face joins his list of partnerships over the past year, including Reese’s Puffs, Nike x Sacai and Comme des Garçons.
Speaking on the collaboration, KAWS explains: “I’ve always admired The North Face iconic silhouettes – I have had them in my winter rotation for years. The blocking, stitching, and details on their coats really lent themselves to the way I structure a painting, so I treated the garments in our collaborative collection like a blank canvas. And I enjoyed exploring their extensive colour and material archive as I would a new paint set.”
The collection is available from The North Face stores from the 17th of February.
