august at night’s latest single embodies mellow, familiar intimacy.
Following on from his debut single ‘Realer’ released in 2021, august at night is back with an honest exploration into desire. After putting his name on the map last year with his stripped-back and moody sound, new track ‘Some Nights’ demonstrates august’s skills in both storytelling and production.
In his first fresh song of 2022, emotion leads the way. Layering mellow beats with silky smooth vocals, august describes the uncomfortable yet familiar space between friendship and love with raw honesty. A delicious combination of pop, R&B, and new wave hums, ‘Some Nights’ echoes nostalgia in a wholly contagious manner.
