In the space of a year, Khalid’s rise to fame has gone from groundbreaking to commonplace. Finding fame first on SoundCloud and then on Kylie Jenner’s SnapChat and aged just eighteen, he was hailed as Gen Z’s first true pop star. Now nineteen and with a quadruple platinum single, a Grammy-nominated album and a world tour under his belt, Khalid has cemented his status as his generation’s first superstar.
For his Notion 79 cover, we meet him in London in the midst of it all to talk teenage years in the spotlight, finding a home in his music and his ambitions for working within education.
