North London newcomer Naomi Banks gets "Closer" with her new electro-pop single.

Effortlessly blending her modern pop edge with her neo-jazz and smooth R&B influences, Naomi Banks notes some of her key inspirations as Laura Mvula and Lianne La Havas.

Having burst onto the scene last year with melodic, pop-driven debut “Enough”, London singer Naomi Banks has been steadily establishing herself with a stream of singles. Throughout, she’s demonstrated her musical versatility, switching things up from upbeat, bubbling numbers to slower, softer songs. This summer, Naomi returned with the urgent and addictive song “Closer”.

On the track, Naomi said: “Closer is about being attracted to someone and not overthinking sexuality, just going with what feels right”

Whilst live music has been on pause of most of this year, Naomi Banks may still be riding high off her successful stream of London live shows in 2019. Not only did she play the Servant Jazz Quarters and support Rachel Chinouriri and Celeste at The Lexington, but she sold out her own headline show at Laylow. She hasn’t let lockdown stop her from performing, though. Throughout the past few months, Naomi has held live sessions in a converted warehouse shared with an intimate audience, including a rendition of “Closer”.
