Hunter Schafer’s Jules takes the spotlight in the second special episode of HBO’s hit series Euphoria.

At the end of last year, Euphoria shared the first of two bonus episodes. Part 1 focused on a conversation between recovering drug addict Rue (Zendaya) and her sobriety mentor Ali (Colman Domingo) after Rue’s plan to run away with Hunter Schafer’s character Jules at the end of season 1 fell through.

Continuing from the prior special, the attention now turns to Jules and her side of the story. The new trailer for “Part 2: Jules” shows Jules reflecting on the events of the terrible year that has passed, over the course of the 2020 Christmas holidays. “Rue was the first girl that didn’t just look at me,” Jules narrates. “She actually saw me. The me that’s underneath a million layers of not-me.”

The trailer also teases a potential return to Rue and Jules’ dream like alt-reality where the two are living together as a couple, as well as hinting at a climax for Jules as she reckons with the darker parts of her recent past.

Co-written by Schafer and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the episode serves as a bridge between seasons 1 and 2, with the second season being delayed due to obvious reasons. The second special will air on January 24 on HBO, with HBO Max users having access the episode two days early on January 22.
