The house music maverick, Noizu, is back with brand new vocal edit for his holiday-vibe single, “Summer 91”, and creates an exclusive mix for Notion.

Since dropping his explosive debut “Lasers” on Chris Lake’s LP ‘HOWSLA’, Noizu has been ascending in the house music world. The track was championed by the industry’s FISHER, Claude Von Stroke, and Green Velvet, yet the Los Angeles hailing artist topped his success with “Rave Alarm”, a collab with Dombresky.

This club-ready anthem became Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record” on BBC Radio 1. His follow-up ‘Jungle EP’ swept in the praise of Diplo, Oliver Heldens, A-Trak, Jauz, and Malaa. 2020 saw a flurry of singles from Noizu, among them “Elevate”, “Hands Up” with producers Martin Ikin and Fast Eddie, before he put his own spin on 220 Kid and JC Stewart for his remix of “Too Many Nights”.

Noizu also rolled out his beach boogie “Summer 91”, with which he has now shared a juicy new vocal edit by Catz ‘n Dogz.

Now, Noizu creates an exclusive mix for Notion to while away the long summer days. Dive in!

You recently released a new vocal edit of the song – what do you love about this version?

This version feels like the song is now complete.  It’s a perfect balance of vocal and instrumental to me.  I’m always very conscious of not having vocals for the sake of making a song commercial.

Why did you feel now the right time to release the new version?

Well, it actually came out in January but has been growing ever since.  The aim was obviously to have it out for summer so I think the timing has been perfect building it up to now.

You were hoping to play the tune to festival audiences. Do you have any shows coming up this year?

Yeah, I have a lot in the diary now.  I have shows all across the US and I am coming back to the UK in August to do Reading and Leeds, Hard London, and a few club shows in Bristol and Sheffield.

What can we expect from a Noizu set?

I pretty much play all my own music and releases that have come out on my record label “Techne”.

You’ve remixed songs such as “Too Many Nights” by 220 KID and JC Stewart, amongst others. How do you decide which tracks to remix?

I get approached to do remixes by artists and labels but I can be quite fussy about what I take on.  I just need to love the original vocal and have a clear vision of what I am going to do with it.  As long as it makes sense with my project and it’s good, I will do it.

Talk us through the mix you’ve created for Notion. Why did you pick these tracks and what vibe were you hoping to create with it?

There is a lot of my own music and music from my label “Techne”.  I suppose it’s an introduction to people who have only just found out about me from “Summer 91”.  It’s also a good indication of what I would play out in a club or festival.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation.  Pretty simple, I spend half my week flying to shows so that would free up a lot of time!

What’s next for you?

My next club song called “Middle” is coming out on my label “Techne”, June 11th. I am also working on the follow-up to “Summer 91” with RCA Records. Apart from that, just more shows finally!
