London-based Brazilian, Shir Sol Evans, returns with his new single “Mayla’s Perspective: A Prologue”, an intriguing blend of cinematic R&B Pop with classical Italian literature-inspired lyricism

Brazilian artist Shir Sol Evans drums up anticipation with his new single “Mayla’s Perspective: A Prologue” ahead of the release of his upcoming double album. Evan creates deeply personal and multifaceted music by juxtaposing elements of EDM, Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B, with his retro-chic production and introspective lyricism.

Drawing inspiration from classical Italian literature, “Mayla’s Perspective” functions as a prologue to The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, casting the story through Evan’s own Mayla acting as his Boticellian Venus. “Mayla’s Perspective” is a testament to Evan’s wide-reaching creative process. Often compared to Frank Ocean and NAO and inspired by a range of artists from Boticelli’s Birth of Venus to Childish Gambino’s Because of the Internet, Shir Sol Evan’s art is encompassing and unique.

Speaking on the single Shir Sol Evans explains: “I read Dante Alighieri’s Vita Nuova and his Divine Comedy [and] worked on an idea for a large concept album mostly inspired by these writings and dove deep into understanding my inner being to surface “Mayla’s Perspective: A Prologue” as the key to unlock the album that will follow afterwards.”

With 100k streams to date, plays by BBC Radio 1xtra and placements on Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop, Shir Sol Evans sets the scene for the arrival of his new single “Maylas’s Perspective: A Prologue” and his double album which will follow soon.
