Make way for DYLAN as she explodes on to the scene as one of Virgin Money’s Emerging Stars!
The burgeoning indie-pop artist, who hails from Suffolk, is managed by the same team as Ed Sheeran and has already been riding the Radio 1 airwaves.
Describing her sound as “unapologetic, honest, and dark,” DYLAN has always had her sights set on a career in music. “I think there’s never really been a plan B for me,” she said. Her dream is to perform at Wembley; she’s been practising her entrance since her Dad trained her to shout “Hello Wembley!” as a child.
It was this early education in music from her father that set DYLAN on the path to music. “My heroes are probably AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses,” she tells. “Those were the bands that made me want to do music. My Dad used to play their music the entire time, so naturally I just wanted to be a rock god.”
DYLAN takes this rock god approach to her shows, putting in as much time and effort as she can into making them a real spectacle. “When I first started doing this, I wanted the live shows to bang from the start. I wanted people to walk away from the shows being like, ‘Wow! That was amazing and she’s only done two gigs!’” she says enthusiastically. Through the Virgin Money Emerging Stars programme, DYLAN hopes to make her shows even more captivating by using the funds to support her live team.
The Emerging Stars initiative is designed to seek out and support some of the UK’s best and brightest up-and-coming talent by helping them to pursue their dreams and reach their career goals. “I’m so excited to be a part of this programme because it gives me an amazing chance to showcase more of my music,” DYLAN said.
DYLAN’s drive is rooted in her attitude towards hard work: “My career is my life and I don’t wanna do anything else, and I know that the harder I work, the more likely I am to succeed because no one else is gonna do the work for me,” she explained.
