“Hey It’s You” by Emily Laing

Wearing her heart proudly on her sleeve, Emily Laing is no stranger to emotions and putting them all into her sonic world.

 

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, Emily is a writer at heart with her tender and vulnerable emotive lyrics. Inspired by traditional folk songs, “Hey It’s You” is an intimate perspective from the young storyteller, filled with rolling drum patterns and languid guitar melodies. Emily’s vocals are the cherry on top of this delicate cake.

 

Speaking on the latest track, Emily revealed, “It’s about meeting someone for the first time and that connection you have with them almost instantly” Emily explains. “How a moment can exist between two people and no one else knows about it”.
